We are thrilled to offer a week of diving in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Starting from the Kyle of Lochalsh, the charter covers an extensive itinerary from an easily accessible starting point. Although not widely known, the off-piste diving in this heart of Scotland gives a broad range of sites that showcase some of the best of Scottish scenic diving with the added distraction of a wreck or two.
A typical week would include the Port Napier, a minelayer that caught fire and sank just south of the harbour and is now one of the iconic Scottish dives. Kyle Rhea gives fast drift diving in the narrows between Skye and the mainland. Further south, dives in Loch Nevis see us well placed to visit Inverie and the UK’s remotest pub, the Old Forge. Heading north the trip runs up the side of Skye and the deepest water in the UK: Raasay has deep walls on the east side of the Island and a bar tucked away at the top of a beautiful pier.
Diving is from the dive boat Halton, a great liveaboard that knows these water well and has extensive experience to make your week go as smoothly as possible. The diving is suitable for all qualified divers with UK experience. Divers will be experienced dry suit divers, capable of deploying an SMB and used to UK diving conditions. Water temperatures at this time of year is around 8-10 degrees Centigrade and visibility in the 8 – 10m range.
Itinerary:
We will be meeting at the boat at Kyle of Lochalsh on the afternoon of the 25th of April. We will be diving from the 26th of April to the 1st of May. We will be leaving the boat late afternoon on the 1st of May.
Cost:
The cost is £725 and this will include accommodation, diving and food. In order to secure your place, we will require a deposit of £250 and we suggest getting insurance at the point of booking as you’re liable for the full price if you cancel and don’t fill the space.
