Course description: This course teaches you the foundations of being able to help others in the unfortunate event of an accident, injury or illness and how to sustain life until the Emergency Services arrive. The course is broken into two sections: Primary Care and Secondary Care. The Primary Care section includes Scene Assessment, Barrier Use, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Airway Management, Serious Bleeding Management, Shock Management, Spinal Injury Management and the use of Automated External Defibrillators. The Secondary Care section includes Injury and Illness assessment, bandaging and splinting for breaks and fractures.
